SABLE DUNES AUDUBON SOCIETY

It all started with a group of friends who developed a common passion and subsequently got together with increasing frequency to enjoy this shared interest. It wasn’t long before Sable Dunes Audubon Society was “officially” born.

Founded in 1982, SDAS expanded its support of the birding community to Mason & Oceana counties through educational workshops and outings. The group is made up of enthusiastic individuals who enjoy sharing ideas, activities and the joy and respect of our flying friends. You’re welcome to browse our site to learn more, and if what we’re doing resonates with you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch or consider supporting our cause.

Our birding season runs from April to November and includes educational presentations starting at 6:30 PM, guided field trips and one annual social gathering/season ending wrap up. Educational presentations are the third Thursday of the month and will be at the Ludington Public Library or the Centenary Methodist Church in Pentwater. Field trips take place on Saturdays at locations throughout West Michigan.
